FROM FRAT TO PAT: The Path From Pledge To Parent Educator

Their story starts at the front door of the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center on the University of Northern Colorado’s campus in fall of 2006. Jonathan Jauregui and Michel Infante were both on their way to turn in their “interest” information to the Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity. They introduced themselves to each other, exchanged numbers, and quickly became friends. Over the next five years, Michel double majored in sociology and Spanish, and Jonathan, or Jona, earned a degree in psychology with a minor in sociology. Somehow, they both found time to join Sigma Lambda Beta, a Latino-based social fraternity based on the principles of brotherhood, scholarship, cultural awareness, and community service. (continue)
